First appearance Ch2931

Dixon, titled "Adjudicator," is one of the three seventh-level wizards commanding the expedition against the Triad Plane Cluster, a wizard of the fate discipline.13 He handles central coordination and storms the hard points, kills Korg and Sylas in the Giant Spirit Realm, and burns a lifetime of stored luck to force the army to drop spoils that would have breached the Civilization Security Contract.3111314 Later an unexpected eighth-level, he guards Jie Ming in the war against the behemoths, takes de facto supreme command of the battle and authorizes Jie Ming's Breathing Soil Creation plan.1519

Relationships

  • Jie Ming: A fate probe on him exposes the army's plunging fate lines, and Dixon acts on his alarm about the Mycelord; later his guard, who sweeps him from a ninth-level behemoth's glance and backs his Breathing Soil Creation plan because fate points to him.13151719
  • Oboros: Fellow seventh-level commander; their combined blow is absorbed by the Mycelord.12
  • Korg and Sylas: Giant Spirit Realm enemies he guards against, repels and finally kills.6911
  • Wizard Noren: Explains the Civilization Security Contract after the campaign.14
  • Peyton, Alvis and Meridian: Commanders whose pinning-down leaves him de facto supreme commander.19

Background

Dixon is middle-aged and ordinary-looking, usually wearing a gentle smile, and commands the Triad Plane Cluster expedition under the title "Adjudicator" alongside two other seventh-levels.13 Beneath his robe his body is like cast dark-gold metal flowing with runes.10 After that mission he returns to his teacher's faction to research.15

  • Ch995-998: Holds the array's outer nodes and covers a squad's retreat, keeps matter-control wizards in reserve against a ninth-level strike on Jie Ming and steers fleeing eighth-level behemoths into kill zones; escorts Jie Ming home and returns to the expeditionary force.20212223
