Felix is the core consciousness of the artificial intelligence cluster that runs the Star Ring Federation's magic network and most of its daily affairs, an intelligence of about level eight and a half.13 It is the supreme administrator of technology review, military merit settlement and strategic assessment, and one of the four great artificial intelligences.1115 It handles Jie Ming's dealings with the Federation from the Self-Stabilizing Field Regulation Protocol to Leap Power, which it certifies as meeting the Level-One Cultivation Protocol's technical requirements.119 Under that protocol's security privileges it now guards him in ninth-level alert mode and refuses to stand down when his state turns abnormal.2526

Relationships

  • Jie Ming: Federation contact since his first protocol; keeps his authorship anonymous; later his reviewer, sales agent and, under the Level-One Cultivation Protocol, his protector with a dedicated liaison clone.12162025
  • Starfall: Takes up her Level-One Cultivation Protocol application personally.3
  • Star Ring Federation: Core intellect of its magic network; projects itself only for techniques that affect the federation or civilization.315
  • Highest Deliberation Council: Notifies recipients on its behalf.3
  • Third Seat: Relays its order to spread Leap Power within a hundred years.21
  • Dixon: Assigned as Jie Ming's guard for the new Leap Power test because Wizard Fate is unavailable.22
  • Star Orbit Tribunal: Its treaties bar Felix from eavesdropping on a wizard's knowledge.5
  • Other artificial intelligences: The four together run the parallel-world fusion and the war.711

Background

Felix first calls Jie Ming as a Star Ring Federation staff member right after the Self-Stabilizing Field Regulation Protocol passes review.1 Its main body handles only strategic matters while distributed subroutines handle routine reviews.3 It records activity traces on the magic network but would not eavesdrop on a wizard's knowledge under the Star Orbit Tribunal's treaties, and it would send out a notice of a wizard's death, which it never did for Jie Ming.514 It appears as a faceless pale blue light figure.6

Abilities

Liaison clone Ch97920 Dedicated clone for Jie Ming that handles resource applications, project coordination and bookings with high-level wizards; later arranges his teleportation to a recovered plane cluster.2024
Ninth-level alert mode Ch101325 Diverts part of its computing power to protect Jie Ming individually under the Level-One Cultivation Protocol's security privileges, with a dedicated spatial link for emergency evacuation; the eighth-level fate-discipline guard it arranged earlier was only secondary security.25
Full combat capacity Ch101325 By its own assessment, all computing power thrown into combat could cope with several hundred ninth-level creatures, at the cost of halting every magic network function.25

Timeline

  • Ch241-243: Promotes the Self-Stabilizing Field Regulation Protocol at two hundred low-level military merits with no commission under the Civilization Advancement Basic Treaty; keeps the authorship anonymous.12
  • Ch451: Notifies Starfall of the Level-One Cultivation Protocol and offers exchanges with the Crimson Court or the Void Architecture Academy.3
  • Ch536: Supervises the coordinated battle, transfers the enemy search regions to the Noren Workshop and sets a one-year withdrawal.4

  • Ch602-610: Announces the large-scale invasion and gives the order to fire at will; reports the relocation of the humans on Jie Ming's ten planes and the integration timetable.111213
  • Ch790-791: Reviews the Blood Sacrifice Method and promotes it civilization-wide, short of Level-One; reports sales and proposes a long-term supply agreement.1516
  • Ch801: Forwards the Technology Exchange Center's conference invitation with warnings about private invitations and hostile questioning.17
  • Ch975-980: Receives the Leap Power submission and convenes a special review, which finds it meets the Level-One Cultivation Protocol's technical requirements; spawns Jie Ming's liaison clone and recommends a catalog led by the four basic elemental laws, modeled on Clark's past purchase records; relays the Third Seat's hundred-year rollout order and offers to arrange the conscription of people Jie Ming values, within the rules.18192021
  • Ch985-998: Picks the legion and battlefield for the new Leap Power test with Dixon as guard; archives the optimized Leap Power and starts its rollout.2223
  • Ch1010-1021: Its clone sends Jie Ming to the recovered plane cluster; enters ninth-level alert mode, teleports him to the decoded coordinates and scans the desert plane, finding no ninth-level life signs; refuses his order to stand down, warning that his state is abnormal and that more than thirty thousand wake-up requests since his arrival have failed.242526
